A total of 17 youngsters sent letters through the Roundup to Santa's Helper. A special benefactor, who wishes to remain anonymous, arranged for all 17 to receive new bikes from Manzanita Adventure Sports, along with gift certificates for helmets and, for the younger letter writers, training wheels.

The Santa's Helper asked the participating youngsters to send a letter, explaining why they wanted a new bike for Christmas. Here are some of the letters:

"Dear, Santa's Helper:

"I would really like to have a new bike because I just moved here and we didn't have enough room in our truck for mine and my brother's bikes. I am writing this letter for both of us if you have two trick bikes we would really appreciate it if you would give us them. If you only have a small trick bike I would share it with my brother. Thank you for this opportunity to win a bike. -- Zachery, 9."

"Dear Santa's Helper"

"Can you fly? Can I have a bike with pink? Merry Christmas. -- Lauren, 5."

"Dear Santa's Helper:

"I would really like to have a new bike because my mom ran over my bike. Now it is broken. I really hope me and Chelsey win the contest because we like to ride together. Thank you for having the contest. -- Anna."

"Dear Santa's Helper:

"I would really like to have a new bike because the chain is broken on my bike. It is rusted and very old. Thank you for this opportunity to win a bike. -- Chris Perry."

"Dear Santa's Helper:

"My name is Dallas. I am a 10-year-old boy. I really need a new bike. My Dad died one year ago, he bought me this bike. Someone stole my bike. Some people found it in the woods but it is broken. I sure would like a new bike to ride for Christmas. Thank you, Dallas."
