Stanley Ellis Thomas


Stanley Ellis Thomas, 75, of Scottsdale, died Feb. 12, 2005. He was born Jan. 4, 1930 in Phoenix, and was raised in Scottsdale.

Mr. Thomas was a member of the Scottsdale Historical Society, life member of Payson Benevolent Protective Order of Elks No. 2154, and the First Baptist Church of Scottsdale.

He is survived by his daughters, Adrianne (Robert) Troutman, Karen (Lawrence) Gulley, Sarah (Jeff) Grossfield and Bonnie Elise (Casey) Sargent; sister, Jean Scott; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Philen Thomas; parents, George H. Thomas, Sr. and Vada E. Thomas; and brothers, George H. Thomas, Jr. and John A. Thomas.

Memorial services will be at noon, Feb. 22 at First Baptist Church of Scottsdale, and a memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 24 at the Payson Elks Lodge.
