Fred Bernard Chilson, 81, died Feb. 21, 2005 in Rye at home on the ranch he loved. He was born March 24, 1923 in Tempe.
Mr. Chilson was one of Payson's pioneer family patriarchs. He was a true, great American cowboy in every sense of the word.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Chilson; his children, John (Jeri) Chilson of Payson, Mary (Johnny) Randall of Mesa, Jim (Tomi) Medlock of Anthem, Ariz., Jacki (Rick) Hunlow of Portland, Ore., Mark (Jane) Medlock of Payson, Franki (Mike) Hall of Columbia, S.C.; 17 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Payson at 10 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 26. Immediately following the services, interment will be at the Last Roundup in Rye.
Donations can be sent to the Fred B. Chilson Memorial Fund at Stockmen's Bank in Payson.
