The snowstorm that blanketed northern Arizona last week wreaked havoc on sports schedules.
Payson High School boys and girls basketball games slated for Jan. 4 against Coconino and Jan. 8 against Flagstaff were postponed due to inclement weather and adverse driving conditions. Both games were to be played in Wilson Dome.
A Lady Longhorn soccer game Jan. 5 against Moon Valley at Rumsey Park was canceled and will probably not be rescheduled, PHS athletic director Dave Bradley said.
Boys and girls soccer games originally scheduled Jan. 8 at Rumsey Park were also postponed.
The new schedule for postponed games:
- PHS soccer vs. Flagstaff, Jan. 13 at Rumsey Park. The girl's game begins at 1 p.m.; the boys at 3 p.m.
- PHS boys and girls basketball vs. Flagstaff Coconino, Jan. 26 in Wilson Dome and old PHS gymnasium.
- PHS basketball vs. Flagstaff, Jan. 21 at Flagstaff High School and Jan. 25 in Payson.
Game times for the basketball games will remain the same -- 4 p.m. (jayvee boys and girls), 5:30 p.m. (varsity girls and freshman boys) and 7 p.m. (varsity boys and freshman girls).
