It appears the letter from Mr. Brophy regarding intolerance was a repeat. I had thought about responding last time I read it and could not keep from doing it this time.
Worse than intolerance is pure deception. Mr. Brophy is contorting God's word to try and prove his way of thinking.
He quotes from the Bible John 14:2 "in my Father's house are many mansions" (some versions read rooms). I would urge Mr. Brophy to actually read at least the chapter of the Holy Bible he quotes. His claim that this verse somehow shows Jesus "honors all paths that lead to God" shows a lack of knowledge, wisdom and understanding. If he would put that versen its proper context he would see that quite the opposite is the case. Christ is speaking to comfort His disciples and just a few more lines down in John 14:6esus actually says: "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father excepthrough me".
To try and use Christ to show unity is absurd. Christ says in Luke 12:51 "Do you think I came to bring peace on earth? No, I tell you but division." Christ is the biggest divider of all. Dividing, mother against daughter, father against son. So, Mr. Brophy needs another example to prove his point.
