Tonto Village Getting Back To Normal After Storms

The village has been quiet this past week after our big snow storm. There were many people from the Valley who came up to play in the snow and the evidence of that can be seen along the side of the Control Road coming into the village. There must be at least five different snowmen that were built by the kids and their parents this past weekend.

When was the last time you made a snowman? I can't even remember back that far. One of the New Year's resolutions we should make to ourselves is to enjoy every day as if it was your last, and that could be to enjoy the snow, not just complain about all that shoveling we must do or how messy it is and how many times the floor needs to be mopped. Life is short and there is only this one time around. Let's enjoy ourselves!

The Hatch family, Kimberly and Daryl, of Mesa, Ariz. was blessed with a 7 pound 11 ounce baby boy on Jan. 6, 2005. His name is James Daryl or J.D. His great-grandparents are Randall and Georganna Hatch of Tonto Village of Mesa, and Mae and Dick Jones of Bear Flat. J.D. was born four weeks premature at Desert Samaritan Hospital in Mesa.

J.D. is now doing very well after being on a respirator for a time. Congratulations to the Hatch family on their new addition.

Grant Coley of Tonto Village II lost his father, Roland Coley of Mesa, on Jan. 3, 2005. Mr. Coley reached a grand 89 years before the Lord called him home. He was laid to rest on Friday Jan. 7, 2005 in Mesa. Sincere condolences to all of the Coley family for their profound loss.

Prayers and get well wishes to Annette Godfrey's father, Paul Batty of Payson. Annette is a regular dominoes player in Tonto Village even though Annette lives in Payson.

I know that all of the domino ladies, and there are at least 25 at last count, hope that Mr. Batty recovers quickly and is well again real soon.
