Businesses and organizations interested in educating the public about their services should start making plans for the 13th Annual Business Showcase.
The showcase is April 22 and 23, but a variety of registration dates are approaching. There are 27 sponsorships offered this year.
Registration started Jan. 3, the last day to register as a sponsor is March 25. Participants can sign up between Jan. 31 and Feb. 4; regular registration is Feb. 7 through April 8; late registration, which costs an additional $50, is April 11-15.
Sponsorships are available from $350 to $2,500.
Past participants have enjoyed many perks from the Business Showcase.
"One of the benefits for the hospital is the opportunity it gives to get out in the community and get feedback one-on-one," said Cory Houghton, of Payson Regional Medical Center's marketing department. "Last year we had various department heads at the showcase and they were able to learn what people thought about the hospital. We need to be able to do that."
Gladys Moreno, owner and operator of Garden of Eden, valued her experience at the 2004 Business Showcase. She had just opened her business in October 2003, so last year's showcase was her first experience.
"It was awesome," Moreno said. "I was a little skeptical at first, but I was overwhelmed by the number of people that attended."
Moreno said about 3,500 people walked through.
"We got a lot of business from it and met a lot of people who have since become clients," she said.
The showcase proved to be so successful for Moreno and her business that she had to move to a larger location to accommodate all her clients.
The showcase will feature a nautical theme this year, "Rim Country Businesses ... Hoist Your Sales." It will be held at Rim Country Mall. Registration forms are available at the Rim Country Regional Chamber of Commerce.
