Wildfire Quelled By Help Of Local Residents

On behalf of the Arizona Central West Zone Incident Management Team, I am taking this opportunity to thank the generous populace of Payson for the most welcome and vital cooperation we received during the suppression of the Three Fire Complex west of Roosevelt Lake this past week.

As wildland fires become more complex, our task grows more and more complicated. Continued drought, annual fuels produced by above-normal winter precipitation and rising summer temperatures increase the danger to firefighters, residents and visitors. The support and encouragement we receive from your citizens, businesses and community leaders is absolutely vital to our operations.

You were there for us, and with us, through the Dude Fire, the Willow Fire, the Picture Fire and others. The Three Fire is no exception. It is only with this level of dedication and cooperation that we can safely perform our fire suppression responsibilities.

So, thank you, Payson, for once again helping to make our job successful.
