Sonicio G. "Manuel" Perez, 81, of Payson died July 6, 2005. He was born Oct. 9, 1923 in Ajo, Ariz.
Mr. Perez was a World War II veteran. He was a retired miner, who also worked at a nuclear power plant.
He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by his wife, Socorro Perez, of Payson; daughters: Sylvia Ivey, Lucy Denny, and Barbara Perez; son, Ruben Perez; sister, Guadalupe Vega; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brothers: Miguel, Fernando, and Jose; and sisters: Soila Moreno, Maria Martinez, and Catalina Vanegas.
