Memories Of The A Payson Landmark

My recollection of the Ox Bow Inn is a little different.

A Jimmy Cox bought the hotel and property from the Wades. Then, he built the dining room, bar, kitchen, swimming pool and rooms in the back. During the construction, a solid board fence was built along Main Street so you couldn't intrude on the construction. My dad, Walter Haught, brother Vernon Haught, Sammie Garrels, Hardon Ezell and Omar Ghould were some of the men who worked there. I don't recall it being known as the Ox Bow Inn during that time.

I admit my memory is not absolute. What I remember clearly today may not be there tomorrow. But what the heck, today is only yesterday tomorrow.
