Salon Owner Destined For Work With Animals

René Waggoner isn't new to the Rim country, but she is a new business owner. She has lived in the area about 20 years and has worked in the pet grooming business around town for 15 years. In mid-June she opened her own shop, Payson Pet Salon on Main Street.

"I provide grooming for all breeds, with a tender touch," Waggoner said.

René Waggoner provides full service for any pet she grooms, from tiny terrors to gentle giants, like this beautiful, black Lab.

She said the service is complete, from toenails to ears and all parts between, and her rates are affordable.

"My grooming is different because I take the time to make sure your pet looks as good as possible and isn't unnecessarily traumatized by the experience," Waggoner said.

She said she went into the pet grooming business because she has always loved animals and knew her life's work would be with them in some way. Waggoner has five dogs of her own, a parrot and two African Spurred Tortoises.

When not taking care of her own pets or the pets of others at her business, she enjoys hiking.

Waggoner's Payson Pet Salon is at 408 W. Main St., Suite 7. It is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Call for an appointment, (928) 472-6945.
