The Gila County Sheriff's Office is releasing the following information pursuant to A.R.S. Section 13-3825, the Community Notification on Sex Offenders Law.
The offender in this notice has indicated that he will be living in Pine, Ariz. Notification must be made when certain sex offenders are released from the Arizona State Prison, accepted under an interstate compact, released from the county jail or moved into an area from another jurisdiction. The individual who appears in this notification has been convicted of a sex offense that allows for community notification. He is not wanted by the Gila County Sheriff's Office or any other agency at this time.
This notification is not intended to increase fear; rather, it is our belief that an informed community is a safer community. Citizen abuse of this information to harass, intimidate or threaten sex offenders will not be tolerated. You may contact a Gila County Sheriff's Office Sex Offender Registration Deputy to have any questions you have answered. You may also contact him to help you join or start a neighborhood watch program. Name: David Richard Wilcox, 40 years old, white male, 6 feet 5 inches, 195 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.
Address: 3678 N. Highway 87 #7 (Pineaway Trailer Park), Pine Ariz.
In 1991 in St. George Utah, Wilcox related he molested his mildly retarded 4-year-old son. Ultimately, two years later, this resulted in criminal charges. Wilcox was put on probation. Later his probation was revoked and he was sent to Utah Department of Corrections. While incarcerated, he completed the Intermountain Sexual Abuse Treatment program. In 2001, he was arrested for failing to register in Gila County. He was found guilty and sentenced to 60 days in Gila County Jail. In 2002, he was arrested again for failure to change his address as required. Wilcox is now compliant with all registration requirements. He is currently on probation.
