Ted Owen Meredith

Ted Owen Meredith, 65, of Young, died May 31, 2005. He was born July 9, 1939 to Herman and Mae Meredith in Tulsa, Okla.
The family moved to Phoenix in 1941 and Mr. Meredith attended West High School, where he was a wrestling champion. On Nov. 2, 1957 he married Patricia Gail Moore. They had three children, Ted, Jr., Bonnie and Karen. He enjoyed working as a carpenter for his father's business, Meredith Construction.
The Meredith family moved to Young in 1963 to Buzzard Roost Ranch where he worked in the ranching business until 2000. He also built custom homes throughout his life in Young.
Mr. Meredith fabricated his own unique, custom spurs. He loved drag racing, trap shooting, hunting, talking on his ham radio and team roping.
Survivors include wife, Pat; mother and father, Herman and Mae Meredith; son, Ted (Trisha) Meredith; daughters, Bonnie (Mike) Van De Water and Karen Meredith; brother, Tommy (Joan) Meredith; sister, Janice (Frank) Hamilton; nine grandchildren, Scott, Amy, Sarah, Chad, Kyle, Brian, Jennifer, Clint and Tiffiney; and one great-grandchild, Tyler.
A viewing will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 4 at Young Baptist Church, Highway 288 in Young. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m.
