Carol Olsen Lee of Strawberry died Tuesday, June 7. She was born March 9, 1936 to Victor and Grace Olsen in Chicago, Ill.
Her family moved to the Sunnyslope/Phoenix area when she was 6. She attended Phoenix Union High School from 1951 to 1955. She married Robert J. Lee in 1954 and they recently celebrated their 50th anniversary. The Lees moved to Strawberry in 1962.
A supportive mother, she was always at her children's school, church and extracurricular activities. Evidence of her love for her community was shown through service in the Pine/Strawberry Homemakers, the Northern Gila County Fair, the Pine/Strawberry Medical Board, as president of the Pine/Strawberry Chamber of Commerce and in many other capacities. The Lees were also active in the Rim Country Classic Auto Club.
A Realtor since 1972, Mrs. Lee worked at Coldwell Banker Bishop Realty a total of 17 years. She served as president of the Central Arizona Board of Realtors and as president of the Women's Council of Realtors.
Mrs. Lee deeply loved her family, friends and community and will be missed so much by those who knew and loved her.
Mrs. Lee is survived by her husband, Robert Lee; children, Ron (Shari) Lee, Diana (Mike) McLaws, Brian (Denise) Lee, Don (Denise) Lee; son-in-law, David Perry; 19 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert Olsen; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Grace Olsen, and her daughter, Brenda Perry.
Services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel in Pine at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 11, with public visitation at 9 a.m.
Interment will be at Pine Cemetery following the services.
