Educators Need To Understand Students With Learning Disabilities

The revenue surplus should be used to instruct principals, teachers and the new superintendent on teaching and guiding students with learning disabilities, ADD, ADHD and other development needs. They should be certified by qualified instructors.

There are several seminars and empowerment programs this summer. They can contact the Arizona Department of Education for dates and times. It has been my experience, along with a dozen other parents and relatives, that there is little, if any, education on teaching/guiding children with developmental disabilities.

The Parent Resource Center, (928) 472-5735, is a good place to start. Parent Community Liaison is Christy Walton. Videos, books, classes, and a support group are available.
