The members of the Payson Elks Lodge, No. 2154, will have a special Flag Day celebration Tuesday, June 14.
The lodge will have an open house from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and a dedication of its new flagpole at 1 p.m., followed by a Flag Day tribute June 14.
"The open house is to let people come in, look around the lodge and learn what we do, especially our drug awareness work," said Dwayne Cunningham, chairman of the event for the Elks. "Membership information will be available and those interested can join us for lunch."
The lodge serves lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday through Thursday and the cost is always less than $6, Cunningham said.
The lodge is at 1206 N. Beeline Highway, with the entrance off West Airport Road.
The dedication ceremony will include patriotic music, welcome, invocation, raising the flag with the national anthem, additional remarks, and a group sing of "God Bless America."
Cunningham will conduct the flagpole dedication program.
The Flag Day tribute will include the Order of the Elks Flag Ritual, with assistance from the Payson area Cub Scouts, and Burial Flag Narrative by Adrian Troutman, president of the lodge.
The Elks' Flag Day program is supported by the Payson Patriotic Events Committee.
