Q: Can you find out what's up at the Payson post office? Their east entrance door has been blocked off for months. This presents an inconvenience for those of us who would like to limit our walking. It could also be a potential fire hazard due to one way in and out.
A: Kathy Almendarez of the U.S Postal Service office in Payson said the doors at the east entrance are broken. "It's kind of a unique door mechanism," said Almendarez. "We had to special order the parts, and we're still waiting. It's taking longer than I would like and they can't be opened because it's a safety hazard." Almendarez said in an emergency the doors can be opened from the inside.
