The top 10 highest paid salaries for town employees is quite impressive. With an average of $102,000 -- that is considerably more than the top 10 teachers are paid in the Payson Unified School District.
The top 10 salaries for Payson teachers would be near $50,000 and the average pay for all teachers in the district is close to $38,000. It is quite evident where society considers those most important to the community.
The school board does the best with what they have to work with; however, the Arizona State Legislature only provides lip service when it comes to funding public education.
