Rubber Ducks Gear Up For Second Annual Run

The Landmark's second running of the rubber duckies is scheduled for 2 p.m., Saturday, March 26. This is always a fun event. Especially since the water in Christopher Creek is really running.

Ducks will be available the morning of the race for 45 each. All proceeds go to the Christopher/Kohl's Fire Department. There will be prizes for first, second, and third place. Come out and race your rubber friend down the swollen Christopher Creek and cheer on your rubber friend to win the coveted "Duck Trophy."

Nine-month-old Katie Anthony, the granddaughter of Chuck and Karen Schmitt, was the winner of last year's inaugural Christopher Creek Duck Race.

Easter contest

Get your Easter bonnet on and bring your Easter basket to the Annual Christopher Creek Homeowners Association Easter Egg Hunt and Bonnet Contest. It is at 2 p.m., Sunday, March 27 at the forest gate on Elk Run Road at the top of Hillcrest.

There will be hunting areas for toddlers through age 5 and another for children ages 6-12. Children should bring their own baskets to find 400 hidden eggs.

There will be additional prizes for the funniest and cutest bonnets worn by both girls and boys.

Immediately following the egg hunt, there will be a best bonnet contest among the adults, so get working to create the most fashionable bonnet ever seen on Elk Run Road. Prizes to be awarded.
