Following a successful spay/neuter clinic Tuesday, the Payson Humane Society and the Northern Arizona Humane Society have scheduled another for Tuesday, April 12 at Mazatzal Casino.

A maximum of 50 animals can be accommodated, and appointments are already being scheduled by PHS.

"They can only do 12 dog spays because they're more difficult, and then the rest can be whatever," Cristy Maldonado, PHS animal supervisor, said. "We need people to call or get in here, and we can hopefully get most of the animals in town spayed and neutered."

The clinic will be held at the human resources building on the Tonto Apache Reservation -- the building east of Sonic Drive-In.

Canine spays cost $60, and neuters $45. Dogs over 60 pounds cost an additional $1. Puppies must be 6 weeks old or weigh 8 pounds.

Cat spays are $40, and neuters $20. Kittens must be 8 weeks old or weigh 2 pounds.

Animals in heat or pregnant are an extra $10, and vaccinations are $10. Only credit cards and checks are accepted. To make an appointment, call PHS at (928) 474-5590.
