Jim "Doc" Morse, 83, of Chandler, formerly of Payson, died March 23, 2005 in Mesa. He was born Dec. 6, 1921 in South Bend, Ind.
Dr. Morse practiced medicine for 55 years. He was innovative throughout his life, particularly in medicine and botany. He was married just short of 50 years to his wife, Jeanne. He was a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy and a veteran of World War II serving from Dec. 7, 1941 to Sept. 2, 1945. He loved the Navy and touring with it. He was a member of the Sheriff's Posse of Maricopa County.
He is survived by his daughters, Michele Hart and Jamine Vancely, brother Bud Morse, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., March 29, at the Antique Wedding House, 307 E. 1st Ave. in Mesa.
