C. James Kocka, 90, of Payson, died April 29, 2005. He was born Aug. 28, 1914 in Chicago, Ill.
Mr. Kocka was a World War II veteran who was part of the Black Horse Cavalry and received the bronze star, Jubilee of Liberty medal, and the French Croix De Guerre.
He retired from Courtesy Chevrolet in Phoenix, worked part-time for the Forest Service and was a bus driver for Pine Elementary School. He was a member of St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church and past-founder and president of Pine Senior Center.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Kocka; daughters, Mary Jane (Thomas) Jasin of Lancaster, Pa. and Christine (Walter) Weglarz of Phoenix; and six grandchildren, Jill Orosz, Staci Jasin Shertzer, Claire Weglarz, James Weglarz, Julie Weglarz and Sara Jasin.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 3 at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, 511 S. St. Phillips St. in Payson.
A graveside service will be at 2:20 p.m., Tuesday, May 3 at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road in Phoenix.
