If you've never met a real police dog, now's your chance.
The Payson Police Department and the Payson Fire Department will host the first Public Safety Fair to educate the public about their services and products.
The fair will start at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 14 in the Wal-Mart parking lot 300 N. Beeline Highway.
Throughout the day, until 5 p.m., officers from both departments will give residents important tips on how to stay safe and protected.
The Payson Police Department introduce, "Watch Your Car," an auto theft prevention program, which includes a free vehicle identification number etching on vehicles and boats with glass windshields.
Officers will also cover topics from gun safety to block watch programs to domestic violence and drug abuse to volunteer opportunities in the department. This is also a great time to have your children fingerprinted, your child's safety seat inspected and to pick up free gun locks.
Techies can check out the police department's newest specialized equipment.
Meanwhile, if it's been a while since your last blood-pressure check, get on down to the Public Safety Fair.
The fire department will provide free blood pressure checks and additional health information. They'll also have smoke detectors and family home evacuation planning as well as tips on protecting your home during the upcoming fire season.
