Warren Lavern Green, 83, of Payson, died May 13, 2005. He was born Feb. 25, 1922 in Lansing, Mich.
Mr. Green served his country during World War II all over the South Pacific while on theavy destroyer "Nashville." He then went on to work for 34 years as a heavy equipment operator for Consolidated Rock Products in Sun Valley, Calif.e retired to Payson in 1985 and spent the last 20 years enjoying his well-earned retirement. His favorite hobbies weremateur radio, motorcycles, raising game-chickens and planting more than 350 trees at his homes in California and Arizona.
After his family, his biggest joys in life were his German Shepherd dogs, his African Gray parrot, and his Vincent Black Shadow and Harley-Davidson motorcycles.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Doris; sons, Robert of Payson and Steve of Newhall, Calif.; daughter, Laura of Scottsdale; and grandsons, Markos and Mario of Scottsdale. He also is survived by his sister, June Mantoen of West Covina, Calif.
