As I said, I am out of town, so those who sent information to me via the Internet will be in print. I am in Corvallis, Ore. and it is cold and damp. It is also beautiful.
The Annual Pine Holiday Open House is this Saturday. I had the wrong date in last week's column. I am very sorry about that. The festivities are Nov. 5. The event will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Hardscrabble Road.
Tymeless Antiques, Moose Mountain Gifts and Moose Mart Antiques will have lots of wonderful things for the holidays for both gift giving and terrific decorating. There will be prizes and give-aways, refreshments and holiday spirit. Bring an item or two for the Pine Strawberry food bank. Come and get into the holiday spirit.
Sweet Charity Gift Shop will also be open and all proceeds benefit the annual Christmas Angel's fund for families in need in our community. The gift shop will have many wonderful and unique gifts. The shop is located next to the ERA office across from the Pine Post Office. This would be a great place to volunteer. Your help is needed and would be appreciated. Stop by and talk with Sharon Allen. Donations are also most welcome.
Flu and pneumonia shots will be available at the Pine Senior Center from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 10. Medicare and Blue Cross/Blue Shield will pay the total cost of $30 for flu shots and $40 for pneumonia shots. A receipt will be issued for all other insurance. Call Bruce Thompson at (928) 476-4633 or (928) 476-4902 to sign up for these important shots.
The deadline is fast approaching for buying your tickets for "Dinner before Theatre," the reception and dinner with the participants in the annual Tellabration, an evening of story telling. Storytellers in the event this year are Dorothy Anderson, Doug Bland, Tony Norris, Ricardo Provencio, Marilyn Torres and Liz Warren. The host for the evening will be Don Doyle. Tickets for the dinner are available at the library, but must be purchased by Nov. 9. The $20 ticket includes dinner and Tellabration. Tellabration tickets are $5 and are available at the library or at the door.
The Pine Library now has a meeting and activity room. It has leased the old Kiwanis Building in the Pine Community Center. The room is available for a nominal fee. For more information, check the Web site at pinelibrary.inpayson.com. or stop by the library.
Do you have a refrigerator that you are not using? This meeting room is in need of one. Call Becky at the library, (928) 476-3678, or stop by if you have one you would be willing to donate.
The Computer User's Group will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15. If there is a special topic you would like to see covered, contact someone from the group.
The Old Time Fiddlers will play for your musical enjoyment and participation at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16. This is great entertainment and great fun. Don't miss it.
I sure hope it is warmer there than it is here.
