It was a year of struggles, but Jazmyn Estess is doing great. That's according to her mother, Jennifer, who happily reports on the baby's progress.
"The doctor says she is doing great, but may always be a bit on the petite side," says Estess.
Jazmyn was born Nov. 3, 2004, nine weeks premature. She weighed just 2 pounds, when a typical full-term baby weighs around 7 pounds.
"The specialists in Phoenix, were so amazed at how big she's gotten and how well she's doing," added Estess.
"She wakes up with the biggest smile and is always happy. She loves music. I don't let her watch T.V., because we read a lot of books," said Estess.
Last week Jazmyn celebrated her first birthday with family and friends.
Estess and daughter moved to Oregon last spring to live near her mother, but she still has family near Payson. She wants to once again thank the people of Rim Country for the care and support the family received during their struggles with their miracle baby.
