Congratulations are due to the Payson High School Longhorns Marching Band. This year, the Longhorns have qualified for the State Marching Festival, this Saturday, Nov. 12, at Red Mountain High School in Mesa.
This is the first time in four years that the band has qualified for state. The performance will be at 1:15 p.m.
As the director has mentioned many times this semester, "Our numbers are down, but the quality is up."
To qualify for the state marching festival, a band must receive a rating of "excellent" or better in at least one of the many state-qualifying festivals. The rating of "excellent" is the second highest rating a band can receive at a marching festival. The Longhorns are working very hard for the highest rating, which is a "superior."
A special thank-you to all of those who have supported the band this year.
