Ivan M. Long, 85, died Nov. 8, 2005 in Sun City, after a long illness. A former resident of Payson, he was born Dec. 21, 1919 in Mankato, Kan., the son of Everett and Martha Long.
He operated several farms in Kansas and Missouri before becoming employed by 3M in Nevada, Mo., where he retired in 1981.
Mr. Long was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Pacific.
He is survived by four sons, Gerald (Dorothy) Long of Pavilion, N.Y., Ronald Long of Council Grove, Kan., Bob (Brenda) Long of Scottsdale and Lynn (Christina) Long of Flower Mound, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Mayo Long and Elmo Long; sister, Maxine Sisson; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death in 2001 by his wife, Lora Jesse Smith Long; two brothers, Albert (Bud) and Harold Long; and three sisters, Erma (Sis) Calkins, Opal Johnston and Betty Holden.
A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11 at Mountain Meadows Memorial Park.
