Margaret Ruth Hintze, 78, died Nov. 12, 2005. She was born Dec. 6, 1926 in Morgan County, Ala. to Marvin and Flossie Freeman. She grew up on cotton farms in Andrew Chapel and Mount Vernon, Ala.
Mrs. Hintze moved to Florence, Ariz. in 1954, and then to the Show Low area in 1958. She moved to her present home in Payson 12 years ago.
She took care of children for working mothers for more than 30 years. She started quilting when she was a young girl in Alabama and continued to quilt throughout her life.
Mrs. Hintze was a member of Rock of Ages Lutheran Church of Payson.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur (Chuck) Hintze of Payson; daughter, Linnith (David) Arnold of Yorba Linda, Calif.; son, Brennon (Bonnie) Owens of Taylor; stepsons, Paul (Valerie) Hintze of Tucson and Gary (Kim) Hintze of Show Low; stepdaughters, Connie (Nick) Worth of Taylor and Laurri (David) Davis of Snowflake; sisters, Athalene Netherton of Horton, Ala. and Charlotte King of Cullman, Ala.; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Hewlett Freeman of Cullman, Ala.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 19 at Rock of Ages Lutheran Church.
