The sun has finally appeared in northern Washington -- just as I am heading home. Hopefully, this means I will have decent weather for the long drive. For next week's column, I will be sitting at my very own sunny window.
Tomorrow night, Saturday, is the Tellabration at 7 p.m. in the cultural hall at the Pine Community Center. If you have never been to a Tellabration, an evening of storytelling, you owe it to yourself to attend this wonderful event. If you have been before, you will certainly not want to miss it. The Isabelle Hunt Memorial Library sponsors the event. Tickets are $5 at the door.
Rimside Grill and Cabins is once again ready to prepare your Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner to go. Everything is homemade -- roasted turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, vegetable and pumpkin pie. The Christmas Boutique in the arts and crafts room at the Pine Community Center is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays through November. It will also be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 25. The room is packed with a wonderful assortment of homemade items for decorations and gifts. Stop by and take a look at all the things created by our local artists.
Sweet Charity Gift Shop is full of wonderful Christmas and year-round items for giving or using during the holidays or anytime. This unique shop is located beside ERA Realty across from the Pine Post Office. All proceeds go into the Christmas Angel fund to help children and families in our communities who are in need.
Just a reminder, the Pine Library has a new activity and meeting room available for a nominal fee. The library has leased the old Kiwanis building through CERCA for use by our communities' residents and organizations. Our local shops are a great place to begin your holiday gift search. You will not find more unusual, clever, fun and creative gifts anywhere. Great shops can be found along Highway 87 and on Hardscrabble Road in Pine. The Old Settlers Mini Mall contains seven retail shops. When your holiday visitors arrive, take them on a tour of our shops, and also the museum, the original library and all the other great places that grace our communities, and then treat them to one of our great restaurants in Pine and Strawberry.
