The Tonto Community Concert Association's 27th season is well under way, with its fourth concert planned for Tuesday night.

Classical pianist Cristiana Pegoraro performs at 7 p.m. Tuesday Nov. 22 at the Payson High School Auditorium.

In the world of classical pianists, critics have hailed Pegoraro as among the best interpreters of Cuban and South American music. She has consistently inspired audiences through her original programming, mastery of phrasing and expressive artistry.

Pegoraro graduated with high honors from the Conservatory of Terni, Italy at 16. She has gone on to perform in some of the greatest concert venues in the world, including Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, The United Nations, the Sydney Opera House, Vienna's Bosendorfer Saal, Teatro Municipal of San Paulo and Rio de Janiero and the Santa Cecilia Auditorium in Rome. She even played a private concert for the President of Italy, Carol Azeglio Ciampi in 2003.

Pegoraro is frequently featured on radio and television, including national networks in Scotland, Italy and Australia.

She has 15 highly acclaimed CD recordings to her credit, two of which showcase her original compositions.

The program Pegoraro plans for her TCCA concert is titled, "Dance With Me, From Waltz to Tango and Beyond." She will include three original compositions, plus works from Schubert, Liszt, Chopin and Rossini.

This wonderful, stylistic art piece of a jazz ensemble is unsigned, yet the fund-raising committee of the Tonto Community Concert Association hopes it will draw generous bids at the Nov. 22 program. The piece is one of a collection left to the TCCA by the late Sharesse von Strauss to build the group's educational fund.

Season tickets, which provide admission to Tuesday's concert and four additional programs, are $60. The TCCA also has a variety of contribution plans in which to participate and provide additional financial support. Individual tickets sell for $20.
