Wyatt R. Carter, 75, died Nov. 3, 2005 at his home in Camp Verde. He was born Feb. 16, 1930 in Atlanta, Ga.
Mr. Carter was a longtime resident of Payson and Starlight Pines before moving to Camp Verde in 2001.
For many years, he was active with the Blue Ridge Volunteer Fire Department in Starlight Pines.
He was an avid artist, working primarily in sculpture, with his works in galleries throughout northern Arizona.
He is survived by his children, Wendy Carter-Ford of Pahoa, Hawaii, Denise (Ron) Weiss of Mesa, Wyatt (Jinjer) Carter of Strawberry, Mary Ellen Carter and daughter-in-law Leanna of Ojai, Calif.; eight grandchildren, Shaen (Bethany) Matthew, Lacee, Tyler, Spencer, Mollee, Max and Melia; two great-grandsons, Matthew and Jeffrey; and sisters, Mary Alice Monroe of La Quinta, Calif. and Barbara Campbell of Las Cruces, N.M.
He was preceded in death by his son, Michael B. Carter and daughter-in-law Janet.
