A 20-year-old Strawberry man was killed when his vehicle rolled in the southbound lane of the Beeline Highway Friday night.
Chancy B. Bradshaw was airlifted to Scottsdale Osborn hospital, where he died of the injuries he sustained in the accident.
The incident occurred at approximately 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 25 at milepost 249.8, just a mile south of Payson, according to Sgt. John Whetten of the Payson office of the Department of Public Safety.
"He ran off the right side of the road, over-corrected to get back onto the highway, crossed the road and struck an embankment," Whetten said. "The vehicle rolled to its side, ejecting the driver, then landed on its top and slid down the highway."
The vehicle came to rest on its top, blocking both southbound lanes for approximately 90 minutes, Whetten said.
"Indicators at the scene suggest that alcohol may have been involved, but the accident is still being investigated," Whetten said. He added the driver was not using a seat belt at the time of the accident.
