Scott Flake, executive director of the Payson Regional Economic Development Corporation, has announced his resignation.
"For the past four and a half years, I have enjoyed serving as the director of the Payson Regional Economic Development Corporation," Flake said in his resignation letter to his board of directors. "My career has proven to be extremely challenging and rewarding. One of the greatest rewards has been the opportunity to work with and learn from the caliber of people who serve on the PREDC Board. It has also been a delight to play a part in the development of a community as wonderful as Payson."
He said his work with the PREDC has brought him several potential career opportunities.
"Recently, I have accepted a position with Edward Jones to train to work as an investment representative," Flake said.
He said he hopes to remain in the community and stay active serving his neighbors.
"During my tenure as the director of the PREDC, I have been fortunate to work on a number of projects that I strongly hope will continue to contribute to the economy and positive lifestyle of the Payson area," he said.
Flake's resignation is effective Nov. 3.
Judy Miller, president of the PREDC, says the board is currently looking nationwide for Flake's replacement.
