"The Invisible Children," a documentary film, will be shown free of charge at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2 at the Payson High School Auditorium.
Everyone is invited to attend and learn about the child soldiers in Uganda.
When Claremont McKenna College sophomores Jason Russell, Bobby Bailey and Laren Poole went to Uganda to produce a documentary about the persecuted church in the Southern Sudan, they discovered "the unseen."
Children, sometimes as young as elementary age, are kidnapped by local warlords, brutalized, desensitized and turned into warriors for a cause not their own.
When Elena Runion, a PHS sophomore, saw a screening of "The Invisible Children" she was deeply moved, said her father David Runion.
Through research, she found there was a movement to bring the film to the public, and she wanted to bring it to Payson.
