Leonard L. Couch, 85, died Aug. 31, 2005 in Payson. Couch was born June 19, 1920 in Twin Hills, Okla. He served in the U.S. Army from 1946 to 1949, then in the Air Force Reserves from 1949 to 1952. As an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God, he pioneered two churches in Yuma until his retirement from the Foothills Assembly of God church in 1986.

Couch is survived by his wife, Helen, of Payson; sons Ron (Pam), of Payson and Richard (Janet), of Payson; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by a son, Dwayne; six bothers and sisters; and parents G.W. and Katherine Couch.

Visitation is 9 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 3 at Messinger Payson Funeral Home. Graveside services at Mountain Meadows Memorial Park immediately follow.
