During the 2005 Payson Little League season, our league experienced an unprecedented level of success. The 11-12-year-old division all-stars advanced to the district championships, and the 9-10 year-old division all-stars went undefeated in area and district play and advanced to the state championship tournament.

Payson Little league also hosted the highly successful 2005 11-12-year-old division area all-star tournament.

These successes were enjoyed by many in the town of Payson, but they didn't happen overnight. The Payson Little League board would like to thank the coaches, parents, players and umpires for all the work that went into making Payson's most successful Little League season ever happen.

Of particular importance is the hard work and support that Little League received from the town of Payson Parks and Recreation Department. During the season, the Parks and Recreation Department ensured that Rumsey 1 and Rumsey 3 fields were prepared for play every night. Both fields were in the best condition most Payson residents have ever seen.

During the area all-star tournament, Bill Schwind, Charlene Hunt and Nelson Beck volunteered many hours making sure Rumsey 1 was in showcase condition. Visitors from towns throughout northern Arizona repeated many times that Rumsey 1 was in the best condition of any field ever used as a venue for area all-star tournament play.

Payson's Parks and Recreation Department represented the town of Payson with the utmost professionalism and selfless dedication during the 2005 Payson Little League season, and should be considered a source of pride for the entire town of Payson.
