Ernest Eric Papenhausen, 56, died at the Payson Care Center Aug. 31, 2005. He was born in Long Branch, N.J., July 28, 1949.
A resident of Arizona since 1970, he was a graduate of Arizona State University.
Mr. Papenhausen was a restaurateur and bartender. He and his father established Ernie's Inn in Scottsdale.
Mr. Papenhausen was a lifetime member of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry.
He is survived by daughters, Michelle Dahlke and Mary Papenhausen; son, Ernest Andrew Papenhausen; sister, Virginia (Frank) Seiler; and good friend Wheeler (Pat) Murray.
He was preceded in death by parents Ernest F. and Gerda Papenhausen and brother, Chris Papenhausen.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 8, at Messinger Payson Funeral Home, 302 W. Aero Dr., followed by a celebration of life at the American Legion on Highway 260.
