Golf Courses Not Watered With Town Wells

There continues to be confusion regarding the sources of water for the golf courses at Chaparral Pines and the Rim Club. In 1994 the town of Payson entered into an agreement that states, in part, that wells dedicated to the town must be used only for domestic purposes. All wells drilled within town limits by Chaparral Pines and the Rim Club have been dedicated to the town water department for domestic purposes or as non-production, monitor wells. The golf courses are irrigated through a combination of treated wastewater from Northern Gila County Sanitary District and development owned wells outside Payson town limits.
