Donald H. Bagwell of Payson, died Sept. 13, 2005 of congestive heart failure. He was born in Niagara Falls, N.Y., Nov. 25, 1923, the son of John Murray Bagwell and Anna Shenk Bagwell.
He graduated from Niagara Falls High School, and served in the United States Air Force from 1942-1945 in the Southwest Pacific as a communications supply technician. He was wounded in action during the Philippine Liberation.
He worked at Household Finance Corp. for 16 years. He then purchased a collection agency, which he ran until moving to the Phoenix area in 1976. In Phoenix, he started Southwestern Vactor and then Flocon Inc. He retired in 1994 after selling Flocon to his daughter Elizabeth and son-in-law Bert Green.
In 2002 he moved to Payson.
Bagwell was a member of the Tonto Rim Sports Club, and served as treasurer.
He is survived by his daughter Elizabeth B. (Bert) Green of Scottsdale; son Donald M. Bagwell of Warrensburg, NY; brother, Richard C. Bagwell of Phoenix; and sister, Marge of Maine.
