Payson Could Be Known As Roundabout Town

It's five o'clock in the morning and I am reading the Payson Roundup, Tuesday edition, Sept. 13. Under council agenda item one is the notation that Arizona Department of Transportation will study the possibility of a roundabout at Airport Road and Highway 87. This will cost Payson $25,000. Why, you ask? Because ADOT wants to put another roundabout at Houston Mesa and Highway 87. Two roundabouts within less than 100 yards of each other. The solution -- Why not put roundabouts at every intersection with a traffic light? Then we can be called Roundabout Town, instead of Gateway to the Rim Country. Also, it is nice of the council to want to raise the bed tax and never discuss it with the people who are in the business. Is there something wrong with this thinking, or what?
