Price Hike Seems Like Gouging

Editor:

Last Monday, (Labor Day, Sept. 5), I drove past a gas station on the Beeline Highway at 10 a.m. and noticed the regular gas was priced at $3.05 a gallon. At 11:15 the same morning, I drove past the same spot and noticed the regular gas was $3.27 a gallon -- just in time to catch the Valley traffic returning from the high country.

Today, the prices were lowered to conform with the rest of the gas stations in Payson.

I hope the owners of that station enjoyed their brief moment of price gouging, and I wonder why anyone would purchase anything from this business. Maybe boycotting this type of cheating would wake up the owners and let them know we won't stand for them ripping us off.
