Spay And Neuter Clinic Was A Success

The Payson Humane Society would like to say "thank you" to all the people who made the latest visit of the Arizona Humane Society's Mobile Spay and Neuter Clinic a success.

The clinic and personnel were here on March 21, 22 and 23 in the Bashas' parking lot. Forty-four animals were spayed or neutered during this three-day visit.

We would like to thank Bashas' for allowing the Spay and Neuter Clinic to use their parking lot.

We would also like to thank the many restaurants that donated meals to feed the Clinic's personnel while they were here. They include Fiesta Mexicana, Country Kitchen, Macky's, Pizza Factory, and Bashas'. Mazatzal Casino donated the four motel rooms at Paysonglo Lodge where the personnel stayed. Thank you.

Of course, we thank the Arizona Humane Society for sending their equipment and personnel here to help with our pet over-population problem. One female dog and her offspring can be the source of 67,000 puppies in just six years. One female cat and her offspring can be the source of 420,000 cats in only seven years.

If we can continue to spay and neuter, we hope that Rim Country's overwhelming burden of unwanted animals can be reduced and a home found for everyone.

In addition, we would like to thank KMOG and KRIM radio stations and the Payson Roundup for making sure that the people of Payson were aware that the clinic was coming to town.

Most of all, we would like to thank the people of Payson for stepping up to deal with the problem of pet overpopulation and making the effort to alleviate the suffering of animals in our area. Keep up the good work.

For those of you who were not able to take advantage of the clinic this time, it will return June 6 through June 8.
