Animal Shelter Crowded With Dogs

Rim Country families have new friends waiting for them at the Payson Humane Society's animal shelter at 812 S. McLane Road.

The shelter is very overcrowded with dogs right now, and homes are desperately needed.

The Payson Humane Society has planned a dog adoption event for April 15.

To make adoptions easy, the Humane Society is having a special pet adoption day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, April 15 at Payson Feed.

Payson Feed is at the corner of West Aero Drive and South Beeline Highway.

There will be 8 to 10 large dogs available for adoption, with potential adopters given an opportunity for one-on-one time with the dogs before making a final decision.

All the dogs will be spayed or neutered, have all current shots and microchip identification.

The dogs will range in age from 1 to 5 years and are all mixed breed. The cost of adoption is $70.

For more information, call the Payson Humane Society animal shelter at (928) 474-5590, or stop by between 9:30 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
