April Menus From Area Senior Centers


Payson Senior Center

The Payson Senior Center serves a hot meal at noon weekdays in the dining room at 514 W. Main St. No membership is required. Cost of the meal is $3 for persons 60 and older, $5 for those younger than 60. Meals also can be delivered to homebound individuals. Reservations must be made one day in advance.

For reservations, call (928) 474-4876. If you are not coming to lunch, please call to cancel your reservation. We do not want to waste food.

There will be no meal, or home delivery, on April 14, Good Friday.

The menu for April is as follows:

April 10: Sliced beef, mashed potatoes broccoli, fruit ambrosia, roll

April 11: Lasagna, garden salad, mixed veggies, garlic bread, fruit

April 12: Baked chicken, mashed potatoes, carrots, cake, roll

April 13: Cabbage rolls, twice baked potato, asparagus mix, mixed fruit, roll

April 14: Center closed for "Good Friday"

April 17: Brats & kraut, mashed potatoes, beets, corn, bread, fruit

April 18: Chicken breast Oriental, rice pilaf, broccoli, mixed fruit, egg roll

April 19: Stuffed pork loin, sweet potatoes, spinach, pie, roll

April 20: Liver, onions & bacon, garlic potatoes, almondine green beans, pudding with fruit, roll

April 21: Beef Stroganoff, salad, corn/limas, orange juice, roll

April 24: Sweet & sour pork, stir-fried veggies, egg roll, rice, fruit

April 25: Sausage & eggs, quiche, fried potatoes, broccoli, banana pie

April 26: Swiss steak, baked potatoes, mixed veggies, peach cobbler, roll

April 27: Stew, biscuits, broccoli salad, fruit pudding, cookies

April 28: Fish fry, coleslaw, fries, applesauce, corn bread

You can join us for lunch, even if you are under 60 years of age. There is a $5 charge for persons under 60 years, and we ask a $3 donation for those 60 years and older. Grandchildren are welcome with adults ($3). Bring a friend and enjoy a great meal with great people.

Transportation is available for those who need it. The best price in town.

Pine/Strawberry SCAF

The Pine/Strawberry Senior Citizens Affairs Foundation serves a hot meal at noon weekdays in the dining room of the Pine Community Center. Meals on Wheels are also available for persons who are homebound. Members of SCAF pay $3.50 for lunch; nonmembers, $5.

Advance reservations are required. Call (928) 476-2151 between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. weekdays for reservations.

April 11: Chicken fajitas, Spanish rice, refried beans

April 12: Reuben sandwich, onion rings, ice cream

April 13: Oven-fried chicken, yams, veggie

April 14: Salmon fillet, wild rice, veggie

April 17: Bruce's chicken tenders, roasted potatoes 'n' onions, veggie

April 18: Vegetable beef soup, cornbread

April 19: Sweet 'n' sour chicken, rice, Oriental veggie

April 20: Pork loin, mashed potatoes, veggie

April 21: Baked or fried cod, scalloped potatoes, veggie

April 24: BBQ chicken breast, baked potato, veggie

April 25: Chicken-fried steak, mashed potatoes, veggie

April 26: Oven-fried chicken, roasted potatoes 'n' onions, veggie

April 27: Sausage 'n' peppers, rice

April 28: Chef's choice

All lunches are served with a salad bar. A 24-hour advance reservation is necessary to assure enough for all. Call Cheryl at (928) 476-2151.

On Fridays, cod days, please ask for baked or fried.
