Pastor Joe Hittle, president of the Christian Ministerial Fellowship, joins with other churches to offer Payson's annual Easter resurrection celebration.
The fellowship welcomes residents of all faiths to participate in the spring mirth:
I want to share with you this exciting Christian event at Rumsey Park Saturday, April 15 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
This is the fourth year Christian Ministerial Fellowship has sponsored this event to celebrate Easter with all the Christian churches in our area.
It's a real blessing to see the local churches get together on common ground and rejoice this holiday with fun, food and great Christian music.
We'll have free hot dogs and drinks along with other goodies and fun for the kids.
Let your children romp in the ball field, jump in the bounce house and play other great games while you kick back in the park, listen to some great music and share fellowship with other Christians.
Last year hundreds of children had a blast playing in the ball field; parents enjoyed the comfort of knowing their little ones were safe and secure.
We will also give away free, used clothing throughout the day.
And this year, our musical entertainment is top notch.
Christian recording artist Buck Storm will headline the music ministry at noon.
Storm's style has been compared to Bruce Springsteen, Keith Green, Steve Earle and Bob Dylan.
"I like to write songs about cities and small towns, the ghosts that hover around the edges, dreams and dreamers, families, broken and whole, sin, redemption and the struggle in between, love, squalor, motels, churches, kings and the common man," Storm wrote in his biography.
Storm, a resident of Utah, will feature songs off of his new CD "Gracias."
I've just listened to that CD and it's a good mixture of Southwest-styled music with a heart-reaching message.
We've also scheduled some great youth music groups throughout the day.
Praise bands from the Payson Christian Church and Calvary Chapel will play their inspiring melodies along with the Hispanic musical ensemble from La Roca Church Hispanic in afternoon.
If you would like to help out, call (928) 468-0801.
In case of rain, we'll meet at the Rim Country Middle School.
Hope to see you all there -- bring a friend, come by and say hello.
