Payson residents whose jobs or lives were somehow dependent on the Internet, got a five and a half hour lesson in what it would be like to live without it.
Internet services through Cablevison were out for more than five hours Wednesday afternoon.
"There was an equipment failure at the Phoenix site we get our bandwidth from," said Cablevision district manager Wayne Beikmann.
"It took them a while to get it fixed," he said. "They had to replace a router and so forth. They ran into a few problems when they were doing the repair."
Service came on briefly at 4:30 p.m., then went down for an hour while the bandwidth company made adjustments.
"It is just one of those things that you hope never happens, but when you are dealing with electronics it can," Beikmann said.
