Irene M. Caraker, 94, died in Payson, April 9, 2006.
She was born June 4, 1911 in Pine Tree, Ark., the daughter of Thomas and Lula Neill.
At the age of 13, she moved to Phoenix where she met her husband. She and her husband retired to Payson in 1968 where they became very active in the Masonic Order and the Order of the Eastern Star Ponderosa Chapter #64. She was a Past Matron in both Laurel Chapter #30 and Ponderosa #64. She was also Grand Representative to the State of Arkansas.
Mrs. Caraker is survived by daughters, Corene and Mary Lou; son, Jim; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Her husband of 73 years, Bob Caraker, died in 2001, preceding her in death.
A celebration of her life will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, April 21, at the Masonic Lodge, 200 E. Rancho Road.
