Building For The Future

The Basin Clovers 4-H Group in Tonto Basin decided to start building for the future -- literally. With the help several businesses and individuals the 24 4-H members, ages 5 to 12, constructed a building for the Tonto Basin School to store journals and activity project supplies.

The group, led by Laura Schroeder and Pat Taylor, assisted by Tisha Cline and Sharon Cortiana, meets every second and fourth Wednesday at the Tonto Basin School.

Steve Sachak and the gang at Lumbermens donated the entire lumber package for the project. 4 Peaks Towing moved the building from where it was constructed to the school ground. State Wide Custom Urethane provided the foam roof system. Foxworth-Galbraith donated the door for the building. Butcher Hook Hardware provided the door hardware.

Ted Keatly headed the construction project, which included the crew of David Taylor, Frank Snelling, Rex Smiley, Brent Ewing, David Gower and Chris Cline. Schroeder, Taylor, their helpers and the children wanted to thank Tonto Basin School and its board of directors for the use of the facility for the 4-H functions and the community members of Tonto Basin for their continuing support of the children.
