Incumbent Records Leave Much To Be Desired

This upcoming election campaign seems to be getting out of hand with all the mud slinging and innuendoes. It is my personal opinion that the so-called issues of water and streets, which have been issues in most all past elections, are a smoke screen.

It is also my opinion that there are people and entities which stand to make large amounts of money, especially if they are instrumental in electing a council that is weak and controllable to the extent that it will serve their own agendas.

Remember, citizens, "If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck and walks like a duck, don't call it a horse."

It is obvious to many of us that the track record of our present leaders leaves much to be desired. I ask you if you, the citizens of Payson, feel that some of the decisions made have been made for personal gain? I realize that there are a few council members that truly have the best interest of the citizens at heart. Unfortunately, they were out voted.

Having held the position of councilman and vice mayor in the past, I am getting asked many questions from citizens concerning the candidates. They all want to know who I personally feel has the honesty and integrity to warrant my vote. I am supporting Bob Edwards for mayor, Ed Blair, Sue Connell, and Diana Sexton for council. I truly feel that these candidates will represent our town and citizens to the best of their ability.

Again, citizens, remember, "If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck and walks like a duck, don't call it a horse."

Jim Chase, Payson
